HOUSTON - University of Houston men's basketball fans can begin preparations for the 2009-10 season by renewing or purchasing their season tickets beginning now.

Fans can renew their season tickets or purchase new ones on-line at UHCougars.com by clicking the "Tickets" link, by calling 713-GO-COOGS (462-6647) or by visiting the Athletics Ticket Office on the first floor of the Athletics/Alumni Center during regular business hours.

NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE
Although the team's complete schedule has not been finalized yet, the Cougars know their non-conference slate. The 2009 non-conference schedule features teams that won a combined 209 games a year ago, including eight squads that won at least 18 games, and a pair of NCAA Tournament teams.

UH opens the season on Nov. 17, when it plays host to Nicholls State inside Hofheinz Pavilion. After straight four games on the road, the Cougars will play six non-conference home games in the month of December.

That home stretch begins Dec. 6 against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and continues with showdowns against Troy (Dec. 14), Mississippi State (Dec. 19), The Citadel (Dec. 21), TCU (Dec. 23) and Louisiana Tech (Dec. 29).

A LOOK AHEAD
The Cougars enter the 2009-10 season after posting a 21-12 record and advancing to a postseason tournament for the fourth time in the last five years. It also was the fifth straight season that the Cougars won at least 18 games, a first in school history.

Senior guards Aubrey Coleman and Kelvin Lewis are the top-two returning scorers in Conference USA after averaging 19.4 and 18.0 points per game, respectively. Both players were named to the All-Conference USA teams with Coleman being recognized as the league's Newcomer of the Year.
