Men's Basketball to Host Auction for 2014 Tipoff Dinner

HOUSTON - As they make plans to attend the University of Houston Men's Basketball program's 2014 Tipoff Dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 5, fans can make their reservations to sit with their friends at tables with Head Coach Kelvin Sampson or Houston legends Clyde Drexler and Hakeem Olajuwon by placing an online bid.

Seats at Sampson's, Olajuwon's or Drexler's table will be up for bid during an online auction at UHCougars.com. That auction begins at noon (CDT), Monday, and will end at 5 p.m. (CDT), Oct. 20.

Bids to sit at Sampson's table will start at $3,000, while bids to sit at Olajuwon's or Drexler's tables begin at $5,000. The winning bidder for each table can invite up to seven friends to sit with them at Sampson's, Drexler's or Olajuwon's tables.

To place an auction bid, fans can visit UHCougars.com and follow the appropriate links or by clicking here. Please note that the auction options will not be shown until the auction starts at noon (CDT), Monday, Sept. 29.

2014 TIPOFF DINNER
Sampson and his Cougars will play host to the team's 2014 Tipoff Dinner at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 5, on the floor inside Hofheinz Pavilion.

Tickets are available now for $250 per seat and $2,500 for a 10-person table at the Cougars' only preseason event of the year. Proceeds will be used to benefit the Houston Men's Basketball program.

Fans looking to buy tables or single tickets should call the Houston Men's Basketball Office at 713-743-9742 or email UHMensbasketball@uh.edu with their completed reservation forms. Fans can see the reservation forms by visiting UHCougars.com/2014tipoff or by clicking here.

Pre-payment and RSVP must be received by Wednesday, Oct. 29, to guarantee reservations.


BUY SEASON TICKETS
Season ticket packages start for as low as $99 for 17 regular-season home games inside Hofheinz Pavilion. The Memorial Hermann Family Plan, which includes two adult and two kids' season tickets, can be purchased for only $399 for the entire 17-game home schedule.

To purchase tickets in person, fans can visit the Athletics Ticket Stadium Office located on the northeast corner of TDECU Stadium, just outside of Gate 1 off Cullen Boulevard. Parking is available in the TDECU Stadium parking garage with the first 30 minutes free of charge. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m., to 5:30 p.m.

All UH main campus students are admitted FREE to regular-season Men's Basketball home games with a valid student ID.

Under Sampson's leadership, the Cougars will play host in showdowns against defending NCAA national champion UConn, defending American Athletic Conference champion Cincinnati, SMU, Memphis, Rice and more.

Eight teams on Houston's schedule - UConn (32), Cincinnati (27), Harvard (27), SMU (27), Memphis (24), Murray State (23), Boise State (21) and Tulsa (21) - won at least 20 games a year ago with five of those - UConn, Harvard, Memphis, Cincinnati and Tulsa - competing in the NCAA Tournament.
