History of Hofheinz Web Site Celebrates

HOUSTON - As the University of Houston Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs prepare for their final season inside Hofheinz Pavilion, fans are invited to look back at their historic home arena at historyofhofheinz.com.

Designed by the University of Houston Athletics Marketing and Communications staffs and created by Joseph Villegas, historyofhofheinz.com features photos of Houston Men’s and Women’s Basketball players and coaches through the years inside Hofheinz Pavilion and includes historical data with won-loss and attendance records and more.

The site also showcases the 2016-17 Cougars’ merchandise opportunities with promotional schedules and group ticket information for both programs.

Season tickets for the University of Houston Men’s Basketball program’s 2016-17 campaign are now on sale through the Houston Athletics Tickets Office.

For as low as $80, fans can purchase season tickets to all 16 regular-season game plus two exhibition contests during the final season inside Hofheinz Pavilion. Reserved 2 seating is available for only $130, while fans can enjoy Reserved 1 seating for $225.

The Cougars open the season on Nov. 5 when they play host in an exhibition game to UNC Pembroke, the alma mater of Head Coach Kelvin Sampson.

Houston opens the regular season at 7 p.m., Nov. 11, when it meets Morgan State inside Hofheinz Pavilion. The Cougars square off in 15 more regular-season home contests with games against 2016 NCAA Tournament participants UConn, Temple, Cincinnati and Tulsa as well as Rhode Island, Harvard and Cornell.

Season tickets for the University of Houston Women’s Basketball program’s 2016-17 are on sale now via the Shasta Pass through the Houston Athletics Tickets Office.

With the Shasta Pass, fans get access to all 14 Cougar home games, as well as tickets to all Houston women’s soccer, softball and volleyball games for just $80. A premium season ticket package which includes courtside seating for all 14 home games is also available for $250.

Houston opens the 2016-17 season with an exhibition against St. Edward’s at 2 p.m., on Nov. 6 inside Hofheinz Pavilion before hosting Southeastern Louisiana one week later at 4 p.m., on Nov. 13.

Fans can visit uhcougars.com/tickets, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and follow the appropriate links or call 713-GO-COOGS (462-6647) to order season tickets.

Current University of Houston main campus students are admitted FREE to all Men’s Basketball games with valid IDs.

Main campus students may purchase up to two (2) student guest tickets to each Men’s Basketball game for $5 each, based on availability.

Fans are invited to join the 50-50 Club to support Houston Men’s Basketball. 50-50 Club members help fund program necessities and enhance the experience for our student-athletes.

Fans who join the 50-50 Club will receive embroidered team apparel, a signed basketball, invitations to practice, a tour of the $25 million Guy V. Lewis Development Facility, regular updates about the program and much more.
