    HOUSTON - University of Houston men's head coach Tom Penders and women's head coach Joe Curl will appear on the national telecast of the Conference USA Tip-Off Show on CBS College Sports on Thursday evening.

    The Women's Tip-Off Show will be broadcast at 7 p.m. followed by the Men's Tip-Off Show at 8 p.m. The show will highlight the upcoming season and feature the Houston Cougars in both episodes.

    With less than three weeks remaining before the 2009-2010 basketball season tips off, Conference USA will provide a number of services for fans to get ready for the upcoming campaigns.

    C-USA has produced digital basketball guides with interactive features exclusively online. The digital guides will feature custom interaction including video, sharing across social networks, access to current news, standings, scores and much more.

    The men's team opens the season at 7 p.m., Nov. 17 to play host Nicholls State before leaving on a lengthy road trip. The Cougars will return home to play within the friendly confines of Hofheinz Pavilion for the entire month of December.

    The women's team opens the regular season at Gardner-Webb at 6 p.m. (CST), Nov. 13, and faces UT Arlington on the road at 7 p.m., Nov. 17. The Cougars open in front of the hometown fans when they play host to Oregon State at 7 p.m., Nov. 19 inside Hofheinz Pavilion.

    However, before they open the regular season, the women's team will face the Houston Jaguars in an exhibition game at 7 p.m., Nov. 9, in Hofheinz Pavilion.
