    ABOUT THE COUGARS
Four veterans will be joined by eight newcomers on the men's team in 2011-12. Sophomore forward Alandise Harris is the Cougars' leading returning scorer and rebounder from a year ago and will be joined in the Houston frontcourt by junior forward Kirk Van Slyke.

Senior guard Darian Thibodeaux was the only player to start all 30 games last season and finished second in school single-season history, hitting 44 percent of his 3-point attempts.

Off the court, sophomore Mikhail McLean was named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.
