ABOUT THE COUGARS
The Cougars return four starters and eight lettermen from last season's team, which posted a 21-12 overall record and competed in a postseason tournament for the fourth time in the last five seasons.
Leading the way are senior guards Aubrey Coleman and Kelvin Lewis, the top two returning scorers in Conference USA. Coleman, an All-Conference USA First-Team honoree and the league's Newcomer of the Year, averaged a team-high 19.4 points per game and was the only player to rank among the C-USA top-individual leaders in both scoring and rebounding.
Lewis tallied 18.0 points per game and ranked among the league leaders in scoring, free throw shooting, 3-pointers made and minutes played per game.
