Basketball Season Ticket Cards Sent Out this Week

Nov. 12, 2014

HOUSTON - University of Houston Basketball fans should be on the look out for their 2014-15 season tickets next week but be prepared to receive a different package.

In an ongoing effort to enhance the fan experience, Houston Athletics will introduce the Basketball Season Ticket Membership Card to replace traditional paper tickets. Entering the arena, fans will have their cards scanned before proceeding to their seats.

Managing tickets throughout the season will also become much easier, as fans can forward tickets to friends or print tickets from home by logging onto their online accounts.

"With this new Season Ticket Membership Card, Houston will follow in the footsteps of a variety of professional sports organizations and will become one of the only NCAA Division I programs in the nation to use this new technology," Assistant Athletics Director for Ticket Sales Brooke Smoley said. "Fans can keep these cards in their purses and wallets and never worry about leaving tickets behind again. We are committed to embracing the newest ticket standard to make our fans visits to Hofheinz Pavilion even easier."

Season ticket holders now will receive a Season Ticket Membership Card for each seat in their account. All tickets for all regular-season home games will be pre-loaded onto each Season Ticket Membership card.

Fans who have any questions about their new Season Ticket Membership Cards can call the Athletics Ticket Office from 10 a.m., to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, or email seasontix@uh.edu. For more information, fans also can visit uhcougars.com/membership-card.

Houston opened the Sampson Era in impressive fashion Saturday afternoon with a 108-83 win against North Alabama inside Hofheinz Pavilion. The Cougars drained 17 3-pointers, which would have ranked fourth in school single-game history, with six student-athletes scoring in double digits, led by junior guard Jherrod Stiggers' and sophomore forward Danrad Knowles' 20 points apiece.

UP NEXT
The Cougars open the 2014-15 regular season when they travel to face Murray State at 7 p.m., Friday, in Murray, Ky. It will be the first time the Cougars have faced the Racers on the hardwood since 1955.

From there, the Cougars return to the friendly confines of Hofheinz Pavilion to open their home schedule against Morgan State on Saturday, Nov. 22. That game time has not yet been determined and will be announced after the game time for Houston Football's home finale against Tulsa has been released.
