HOUSTON - The University of Houston men's basketball team returns home to Hofheinz Pavilion this weekend to start a brief two-game homestand.
The Cougars play host to Northwestern Oklahoma State at 2 p.m., Saturday before meeting Louisiana-Lafayette at 7 p.m., Tuesday. Earlier this season, the Cougars opened their schedule with back-to-back home wins against Nicholls State and Alcorn State.
The Cougars (2-1) enter this weekend's game on the heels of a 60-54 loss at Louisiana Tech on Wednesday, snapping Houston's two-game winning streak. Against the Bulldogs, senior forward Maurice McNeil posted 11 points and nine rebounds, falling just one board shy of his third straight double-double to begin the season.
Senior guard Adam Brown leads the Cougars with 17.3 points per game with a team-high five rebounds, while McNeil ranks second on the team with 14.0 points and a team-high 11.3 rebounds per contest.
Cougar men's basketball tickets are available now. Fans can choose from a variety of different ticket packages that best suit their needs, including the Weekend Package (8 weekend home games) and the Conference USA Package (8 C-USA home games).

Northwestern Oklahoma State, located in Alva, Okla., brings a 4-1 overall record into this weekend's game. In their most recent action, the Rangers dropped a 90-68 decision at Sam Houston State on Nov. 15 in a game that was counted as an exhibition.
Against Sam Houston State, senior forward Orren Tims led the Rangers with 15 points and added six rebounds, while sophomore forward Jonathan Freemeyer added 13 points and team-highs of nine rebounds and five assists.
Tims leads NWOSU with 19.0 points per game, while Freemeyer is tops with 8.8 rebounds per contest. Sophomore guard Daryl Glover leads the team with 4.0 assists per game.
