HOUSTON - In an effort to help University of Houston fans attend key football and men's basketball games this weekend, UH director of athletics Dave Maggard announced that the Cougar men's basketball team's starting time against North Texas was changed to 8 p.m. Saturday.

The Cougar Football team faces Conference USA-rival Rice at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, at Rice Stadium. With a win, the Cougars will clinch at least a share of the league's West Division for the third straight season and play host to East Carolina in the C-USA Championship Game, scheduled for Dec. 6.

To better help fans make both events, administrators and coaches from both Houston and North Texas agreed to change the basketball game's starting time to 8 p.m.

"With two big Cougar events scheduled for this weekend, we wanted our fans to be able to enjoy both games," Maggard said. "By moving the basketball starting time back an hour, we hope we can give our fans the best of both worlds."

All Cougar Men's Basketball games can be heard live on 790 AM The Sports Animal or on the Internet at UHCougars.com with Tom Franklin calling the play-by-play action and Willis Wilson providing analysis.

Fans also can follow live stats from the game by clicking the GameTracker link on the basketball team's schedule page on UHCougars.com.
