Houston, Texas- - In an unprecedented move, University of Houston Director of Athletics Dave Maggard announced Monday that the UH men's basketball game against North Texas that was originally scheduled to be played in Hofheinz Pavilion on December 23 has been moved to Denton, Texas. The game will tip off at 1:00 p.m.

"In an effort to allow our fans to attend both the UH men's basketball game and the Fort Worth Bowl, we arranged to play our men's basketball game at North Texas," Maggard said. "We have been assured that tickets already purchased through (the UH Ticket Office) will be honored at the game in Denton. Those people who are unable to attend the basketball game there can return their tickets and receive full credit for them."

Houston head coach Tom Penders is looking at the move as a way for his team to support the Cougar football program and accommodate UH fans.

"This makes it easy for our fans to attend both games," Penders said. "It also goes hand in hand with our philosophy of playing any school, anytime and anywhere."

The Cougars are 3-1 this season following last week's upset victories at No. 25 LSU and over No. 13 Arizona.
