HOUSTON - University of Houston Men's Basketball fans can cheer their favorite team and make generous donations during the holiday season as the Cougars play host to home games during the Hofheinz Pavilion Holiday Party next week.

The Cougars continue their season-long, five-game homestand at 7 p.m., Tuesday, when they play host to Houston Baptist inside Hofheinz Pavilion. From there, the team begins play in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic Regional Round with showdowns against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (7 p.m., Dec. 17) and against South Carolina State (1 p.m., Dec. 20).

Fans are encouraged to bring a small toy or stuffed animal to the Houston Baptist and Arkansas-Pine Bluff games to donate. Following next week's games, Houston Athletics administrators will deliver all donated gifts to a local children's hospital.

Shasta Claus will be at the Houston Baptist (Dec. 16) and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Dec 17) games to take pictures with fans during pregame and halftime on the upper concourse near the Holman Street entrance. Donated toys and stuffed animals can be dropped for delivery off under the tree with Shasta Claus.

UGLY SWEATER CONTEST
As fans look through their closets this holiday season, they also are encouraged to wear their best (and possibly ugliest) Christmas sweaters to the Houston Baptist (Dec. 16) and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Dec. 17) games. Fans wearing the tackiest sweaters will be eligible for great Houston Cougar prizes.
