Holiday Ticket Packages, Promotions Available for Men's & Women's Hoops

HOUSTON - As Christmas draws closer and fans scramble for gifts, the Houston Athletics Ticket Office is offering fans a variety of men's and women's basketball holiday promotions and ticket packages.

Fans are invited to spend the holiday season with the Cougar men's and women's basketball teams at Hofheinz Pavilion in December. With both teams off to impressive starts, fan won't want to miss any of the fun and excitement during the 2010-11 season.

To take advantage of any of the holiday promotions and packages, fans can call the Athletics Ticket Office at 713-GO-COOGS (462-647), visit the Athletics Ticket Office on the first floor of the Athletics/Alumni Center from 8 a.m., to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, or click the Tickets link at UHCougars.com.


KIDS GET IN FREE
For the men's basketball games against Sam Houston State (Dec.21) and Rogers State (Dec. 30), fans will receive two youth tickets (age 3 through high school) for each adult ticket purchased.

Leading the Cougars in his first season, head coach James Dickey guided the Cougars to a thrilling 75-71 win in overtime against Sam Houston State to open the month of December.

Now, Dickey and his Cougar squad look to sweep the regular-season series against the Bearkats at 7 p.m., Dec. 21.

Houston closes out the month and the year 2010 when they meet Rogers State for the first time in school history at 6 p.m., Dec. 30.

Senior guard Adam Brown leads the Cougars with 13.5 points per game and tops Conference USA with a 51.2 3-point field-goal percentage. Senior forward Maurice McNeil is tops on the team with 9.4 rebounds per contest and is tied for the league lead with five double-doubles in 2010-11.

 

 


PACK THE PAVILION
Under the leadership of new head coach Todd Buchanan, the Cougar women's basketball team is off to a 6-1 start and will be looking to play in front of its largest home crowd ever when it plays host to No. 12 Georgetown at 7 p.m., Dec. 28, in Hofheinz Pavilion.

As part of the Pack the Pavilion promotion, all fans can purchase $2 general admission tickets to see the Cougars take on the Hoyas in a key non-conference showdown.

Senior forward and Preseason Conference USA Player of the Year Courtney Taylor, who recently was named Conference USA Player of the Week, leads the Cougars with 17.7 points and 12.4 rebounds per game.

In addition to those promotions, fans also can give men's basketball mini-packages as great stocking stuffers this season. Whether it is the Conference USA Package or the Pick 4-Pack, Cougar basketball fans can find the plan that best suits their needs for as low as $28.
