DALLAS, Texas (AP) - Damon Hancock scored 26 points as the SMU Mustangs beat the Houston Cougars, 94-69, at Moody Coliseum on Sunday Dec. 17.

Hancock was five of seven in field goals and three for three from beyond the three-point line. The starting point guard also sunk 13 of 14 free throws.

SMU's (6-1, 0-0 Western Athletic Conference) field goal percentage for the game was about 49 percent, while the Cougars (2-5, 0-0 Conference USA) shot about 38 percent.

The Mustangs led at the half, 57-45.

The standout for Houston was Dominic Smith who scored 23 points. He shot seven of 10 from the field and sunk four out of five three-pointers. He was five of seven from the free throw line.

The Mustangs outrebounded the Cougars, 47 to 39. Houston sent SMU to the foul line 40 times.
