HOUSTON - The University of Houston men's basketball team looks to return to its regular winning ways when it plays host to The Citadel at 7 p.m., Monday, inside Hofheinz Pavilion.
The Cougars enter Monday's game following a tough 70-64 loss to Southeastern Conference power Mississippi State on Saturday in Houston. Overcoming a 9-point deficit early in the second half, the Cougars battled back to take the lead before the Bulldogs scored the final six points to break a deadlock and take the win.
In that game, senior guard Aubrey Coleman, who ranks as the nation's leading scorer with 26.9 points per game, posted a game-high 28 points and added a team-high 12 rebounds for his second double-double of the season and the 16th of his career.
The Houston native also leads the country with 3.5 steals per game and tops the Cougars with 7.6 rebounds per contest.
Senior guard Kelvin Lewis added 18 points with a game-high four 3-pointers, while sophomore point guard Desmond Wade finished with six assists and only one turnover in 33 minutes. It was the fifth straight game that Wade recorded at least six assists.

ABOUT THE CITADEL
The Citadel enters Monday's game with a 6-6 record following Saturday's 71-50 loss at Texas A&M. In that game, Cameron Wells led the Bulldogs with 28 points on 11-of-19 shooting, while Zach Urbanus added 10 points and a team-high six rebounds.
Wells leads the team 18.2 points per game and is one of three Bulldogs averaging double digits. He also tops the team with 4.4 assists and 1.9 steals per game. Urbanus ranks second on the team with 13.4 points per game while Joe Wolfinger averages 11.3 points and a team-high 6.0 rebounds per contest.
Head coach Ed Conroy is in his fourth season at The Citadel, posting a 39-66 (.371) record during that time. In more than six years as a head coach, he has assembled an 80-106 (.430) career mark. Monday's game will be Conroy's first game against the Cougars.

Monday's game will be the first time that Houston has faced The Citadel in men's basketball.
The Cougars continue their month-long homestand when they play host to TCU at 7 p.m, Wednesday, inside Hofheinz Pavilion. It will be the second of four games during an 11-day stretch for the team. Houston has posted a 2-1 record during its current stand.
From there, the team wraps up its stand against Louisiana Tech (Dec. 29).
