    HOUSTON (Dec. 23) -- Rakim Hollis scored two free throws with nine seconds left tonight as Texas Southern defeated Houston 71-to-68 for its first victory of the year.

    After Texas Southern took a timeout, Houston's Dominic Smith missed a shot with one second left.

    Ricky Bennett led Texas Southern with 24 points. Chris Miller added 14.

    George Williams and Smith each had 18 points for Houston.

    Houston led 39-to-29 at the half, but Texas Southern shot 52 percent from the field in the second half to 26 percent for Houston.
