HOUSTON - For the second straight week, University of Houston junior guard Aubrey Coleman was honored Monday as the Conference USA Rookie of the Week.
Although the Cougars dropped a 71-67 decision to Big 12 Conference member Iowa State on Sunday in Hofheinz Pavilion, Coleman posted a UH season-high 28 points and added seven rebounds and five steals.
It was the third time this season that Coleman scored at least 20 points and was the third time in his last four games that he recorded five or more steals.
With 17.7 points and seven rebounds per game, Coleman is one of only two players to rank among the C-USA top-eight individual leaders in both categories.
It was the third time this season that Coleman snared the league's weekly award.
UCF senior guard Jermaine Taylor was honored as the C-USA Player of the Week.
