Kelvin Sampson Radio & TV Shows Begin

HOUSTON -- University of Houston Men's Basketball Head Coach Kelvin Sampson will begin his weekly television and radio shows, starting Monday, Jan. 2.


For the remainder of the 2017 regular season, Sampson will meet with hosts each week to talk about the latest news in Houston Men's Basketball and Houston Athletics.


Kelvin Sampson RADIO SHOW
The first edition of the Kelvin Sampson Show will air at 7 p.m., Monday, live from Fuddruckers (3929 Southwest Freeway, Houston, 77027). Fans are invited to join the show at Fuddruckers each Monday or listen on KPRC 950 AM.


Each week during the 2017 American Athletic Conference season, Sampson will join host Jeremy Branham to look back at recent games, preview upcoming contests and discuss the latest news in Houston Men's Basketball and Houston Athletics.

Fans can participate in the show by asking questions in person at the restaurant, by tweeting questions to @UHCougarMBK or by asking questions on the HoustonCougarMensHoops Facebook page.

Additional radio shows will air from Fuddruckers on KPRC 950 AM on Monday, Jan. 9; Monday, Jan. 16, Monday, Jan. 23; Monday, Jan. 30; Monday, Feb. 6; Monday, Feb. 13; Monday, Feb. 20; Monday, Feb. 27 and Monday, March 7.

HOUSTON BASKETBALL CENTRAL with Kelvin Sampson
Sampson will begin filming the first edition of Houston Basketball Central with Kelvin Sampson on Monday with the first show airing at 5:30 p.m., Jan. 4, on ROOT SPORTS Southwest.


Sampson will join host Kevin Eschenfelder each week inside to discuss recent and upcoming games and talk about the latest news in Houston Men's Basketball. If they miss first-run episodes of Houston Basketball Central, fans can check out repeat episodes throughout the week on ROOT SPORTS Southwest.

First-run episodes debut at 5 p.m., Wednesdays, each week with repeat episodes airing later in the week. Fans should check their local listings for repeat episodes each week.

Houston Basketball Central with Kelvin Sampson tapings will take place in the Valenti School's Funston Communications Center studios and production facilities with Valenti students holding several production roles under the leadership of Valenti School Director Temple Northup and Houston Athletics Video Production Coordinator Justin Nusser.

Houston fans can find ROOT SPORTS Southwest in Houston on AT&T U-verse channels 758 in SD and 1758 in HD, on DIRECTV channel 674 and on Comcast channels 39 in SD and 639 in HD. The network's programming schedule is available on ROOTSports.com.

In addition to ROOT SPORTS Southwest in Houston, DIRECTV also operates three other ROOT SPORTS Southwest networks in Pittsburgh, Denver and Seattle.

ALL Houston-area high school students are invited to claim a FREE ticket to the Jan. 7 game against No. 23/23 Cincinnati. Students should visit uhcougars.com/highschool to claim their tickets.
• Cougars hit the road again to play at East Carolina (5 p.m. CST, Jan. 11) and at UCF (3 p.m. CST, Jan. 14).

Current University of Houston main campus students are admitted FREE to all Men's Basketball games with valid IDs. Main campus students may purchase up to two (2) student guest tickets to each Men's Basketball game for $8 each, based on availability.

Single game tickets begin at only $12 for American Athletic Conference games and $10 for non-conference games.

Fans are invited to join the 50-50 Club to support Houston Men's Basketball. 50-50 Club members help fund program necessities and enhance the experience for our student-athletes.
