Cougars Defeat Saint Louis






Houston 71, Saint Louis 51

HOUSTON (AP) - Alton Ford scored 22 points and pulled down nine rebounds Monday as Houston defeated Saint Louis 71-51.

The Cougars trailed 29-25 at the half but outshot Saint Louis 55 percent to 31 percent from the field in the second half.

Patrick Okafor scored 14 points for Houston. George Williams added 12 and Dominic Smith scored 10 for the Cougars (6-18, 3-9 Conference USA).

Maurice Jeffers and Jason Edwin each scored 10 points to lead Saint Louis (13-12, 5-7).
