SENIOR (2008)
Started the first two games against Southern and at Oklahoma State before being lost for the season with a torn pectoral muscle... finished with three tackles and added an assisted sack for a loss of two yards against Southern during the season opener.

JUNIOR (2007)
Recorded three tackles, including two solo, at Conference USA rival Tulane... added an assisted tackle for a loss of a yard against the Green Wave.... posted six tackles, including one for a 2-yard loss, against C-USA rival East Carolina... recorded eight tackles, including three solo stops, against Rice... finished with 1.5 tackles for a loss of five yards and added a pass breakup against the Owls... recorded two tackles, including an assisted sack for a loss of two yards, at C-USA rival Tulsa... recorded five tackles, including an assist for a loss of a yard, against C-USA rival Marshall... finished with an assisted sack for a loss of four yards against Texas Southern during the regular-season finale... missed the Texas Bowl with an illness.

Second on the team with three sacks for a loss of 17 yards and led all Cougar defenders with nine quarterback pressures... made his UH debut against Oklahoma State after sitting out the first three games to restore his eligibility... recorded four tackles, including three solo, at Miami (Fla.)... made three tackles, broke up a pass and recorded two quarterback pressures against UCF... recorded a 2-yard sack with a pass breakup and a quarterback pressure against Tulsa... finished with five tackles, including two sacks for a loss of 15 yards, at SMU to help the Cougars clinch the C-USA West Division... also posted a team-leading three quarterback pressures. C-USA Championship Game: Recorded one tackle for a loss of a yard and added a pass breakup against Southern Miss.

Spent two years at Tennessee... Saw limited action in 2005... Sat out as a redshirt in 2004... Also participated in track at Tennessee, throwing the shot put and the discus.

Named First Team All-State... was a Wendy's High School Heisman Trophy nominee... was a national contender in shot put and discus.

Ash, Jr.... born April 20, 1986, in Trenton, N.J.... son of Ell and Kimberly Ash of Willingboro, N.J.... both of his parents are educators... cousin, Bertrand Berry, is the starting defensive end for the Arizona Cardinals... enjoys playing video games and shopping in his spare time... also recruited by Tennessee, Notre Dame, Michigan, Miami (Fla.), Rutgers and Ohio State... majoring in consumer sciences and merchandising.
