Back for his second season as the offensive graduate assistant is former standout offensive guard David Douglas. Douglas lettered four seasons on the offensive line, including the last three as a starter. A 2005 Conference USA Third-Team selection, Douglas was part of an offensive line that opened holes for a 1,000-yard rusher (Ryan Gilbert) and a 3,000-yard passer (Kevin Kolb). As a sophomore in 2003, the Cougar offense generated 458.31 yards and 34.5 points per game, ranking 12th and 16th, respectively, in the nation. Douglas was a two-time First-Team All-District selection at Klein Forest High School and grabbed Second-Team All-District honors as a sophomore. He also was selected as the Offensive Line MVP and threw the shot and discus for the track team Born Oct. 4, 1982, in Houston, Texas, Douglas graduated from the University of Houston in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in communications. He and his wife Mary were recently married in Hawai'i. The couple live in North Houston.
