Eric Soza joined the Houston Football program as an Offensive Quality Control coach at the start of the 2014 season before being named an offensive graduate assistant in 2015.
Before joining the Cougars, Soza was a member of the UTSA football team from 2011 to 2013, where he finished as the program's all-time leading passer as well as the all-time leader in rushing attempts and rushing touchdowns.
For his athletic and academic success in 2013, Soza was named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and was one of 16 National Football Foundation Scholar-Athletes.
Soza was a three-year captain for UTSA, leading the team to 19 games as the star ting quarterback.
Prior to his three-year stint as a student-athlete at UTSA, Soza spent 2009 as a redshirt at Texas State.
Soza played high school football under his father, Chris, at Beeville Jones High School, where he totaled 8,052 passing yards and 86 touchdowns to accompany 1,598 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns in his career.
Soza earned his bachelor's degree in physical education in 2013 and is currently attending graduate school. Soza married his wife Audrey in January 2014. The couple resides in Houston.
