High School: Registered 118 tackles, three forced fumbles and two interceptions as a senior at Texas City High School... was named the team MVP... helped lead team to the Class 4A Division I state championship with a 14-0 record... two-time All-District selection and was a Touchdown Club of Houston Scholar-Athlete finalist... also played second base in baseball and was a four-year letterman... was a member of the All-District Academic Team...
