Landren Hines joined the Houston Football program as defensive quality control in August 2012. In that role he will assist all defensive coaches in administrative duties.
Hines comes to Houston after serving as an intern with the Tennessee strength and conditioning program and for the football recruiting department during the 2011 season.
Before entering the collegiate ranks, Hines served as the linebacker coach in 2010 for Furr High. He worked as the assistant head coach, defensive coordinator and special teams coordinator at Ortiz Middle in Houston from 2008 to 2010.
He received his bachelors degree in human performance from Prairie View A&M in 2001 and is a graduate of Lamar High.
Hines and his wife, Chatney, have two sons, Jalen and Jeremiah. The family lives in Houston.
