Joe Alcoser enters his 18th season with the Houston Football program and his fourth as Director of Football Recruiting after spending the previous five years as the department's Director of High School Relations.

In his current role, Alcoser oversees the day-to-day operations of the recruiting program including the database management, organizing all visits, coordinating recruiting special events, managing the current roster and recruiting budgets.

Prior to his appointment as Director of High School Relations, Alcoser served four years as Assistant Director of Football Operations. In 2001, he worked as a defensive graduate assistant with the team's safeties.

Alcoser worked closely with wide receivers Brian Robinson and Orlando Iglesias and safety Hanik Milligan, who each received various All-Conference USA accolades. Following his Cougar career, Milligan was selected to the 2006 NFL Pro Bowl.

Alcoser's most notable recruits include: Anthony Alridge (Washington Redskins), Donnie Avery (St. Louis Rams), Jackie Battle (Kansas City Chiefs), Biren Ealy (Green Bay Packers), Bubba Evans (Houston Texans), Thomas Gafford (Kansas City Chiefs), Rodney Hannah (Dallas Cowboys), Jeron Harvey (Jacksonville Jaguars), Phillip Hunt (Cleveland Browns), Wade Koehl (New Orleans Saints), Kevin Kolb (Philadelphia Eagles), Fendi Onobun (St. Louis Rams), SirVincent Rogers (Miami Dolphins) and Sebastian Vollmer (New England Patriots).

Alcoser served as the interim director of football operations in the spring of 2001, 2002 and 2003. He also handled duties as both offensive and defensive quality control coach, including special teams responsibilities from 1998 to 2000. Before joining the coaching staff, Alcoser played wide receiver, running back and special teams for the Cougars from 1994-1996, including the final Southwest Conference game in 1995 against Rice and the inaugural Conference USA championship team in 1996.

A three-sport, All-District selection from Houston's Reagan High School, Alcoser lettered in football, baseball and golf. He is a member of the Texas High School Coaches Association and American Football Coaches Association.

A native of Houston, Alcoser earned his bachelor's degree in sports administration from Houston in 2001. He and his wife, Laura, have four children: KJ, Joseph, Scarlet, and Alexis.
