Arrived on UH campus in spring... worked hard during spring drills to pick up offensive scheme... heads into fall in a battle with Matt Hart for the right tackle spot.
Prior to Houston:
Was a four-star recruit by Rivals.com at Navarro JC... ranked #17 Junior College Recruit by Rivals.com... also a four-star recruit by Scout.com... a JC Grid-Wire preseason First-Team All-America... helped lead Navarro to a final record of 10-1 and a #9 national ranking... picked up another JC All-America award in Fall 2008... named First-Team, All-District and Second-Team, All Academic... did not allow a sack in 2008... originally signed with Texas out of high school.
High School:
A four-time all-district 22-4A performer at Worthing High School who was also his team's deep snapper... earned second-team all-state honors from The Associated Press and the Texas Sports Writers Association as a senior... named first-team district 22-4A that season... tabbed second-team all-Greater Houston... notched 16 pancake blocks... led Worthing to at least 250 yards rushing in three games on the season... named first-team all-district 22-4A as a junior... helped Worthing to an 8-4 record that year... also was a four-year letterman in basketball... averaged a double-double during his senior season... also was a three-year letterman in track and field... posted a career-long throw of 42-0 in the shot put... qualified for Track
Regionals in the shot put.
