    Marcus White enters his first season at Houston as the offensive quality control coach and will work heavily with the Cougar offensive line and new offensive line coach, Lee Hays.

    White has great familiarity with both Houston and Hays. The 2008 Murray State graduate was a defensive graduate assistant at UH in 2010 and was the offensive line coach at Tarleton State University in 2011 where Hays served as the offensive coordinator.

    Prior to his time in coaching White played collegiately at Auburn and Murray State, respectively, and went on to play with the Tennessee Titans in the National Football League. He finished his professional playing career in arena football with the New Orleans Voodoo and Tennessee Valley Vipers.

    He was an All-Ohio Valley defensive lineman his final two seasons with the Racers, recording a league-leading 19 tackles-for-loss as a junior and nine more tackles-for-loss as a senior.

    White broke into the coaching profession in 2008 as the defensive line coach at Jackson Olin High School (Birmingham, Ala.) and coached at St. Paul's Episcopal (Mobile, Ala.) in 2009.

    He and his wife Jaunelle have two daughters, Makiah and Jailyn.
