    vs. RANKED OPPONENTS NOTES
    ** With Saturday's win, the Cougars won their third straight game against a ranked team... (W, 70-30, vs. No. 25/24 Tulsa; W, 41-24, at No. 23/-- East Carolina)... It was the first time since 1978 (Sept. 30 to Nov. 11, 1978) that the Cougars accomplished that feat.

    ** Saturday's win was the Cougars' first against a top-5 team since a 29-15 win at No. 4 Texas on Nov. 10, 1984... ... That also was the last time that the Cougars defeated a top-10 ranked opponent on the road or at a neutral site, a streak of 10 consecutive games... The win also snapped an 11-game losing streak against top-5 teams

    ** The Cougars improved to 18-44-4 (.303) all-time against top-10 ranked opponents and 7-22-2 (.258) all-time against top-5 ranked opponents.

    ** The Cougars improved to 3-6-1 (.350) when playing the No. 5 ranked team... The Cougars had not defeated the No. 5 ranked team since a 27-19 win at Texas Tech on Nov. 20, 1976 (The Cougars tied No. 5 Texas on Nov. 7, 1981).

    ** Saturday's game was the first time that the Cougars faced a top-5 ranked team since a 38-13 loss to No. 4 Miami (Fla.) on Sept. 23, 2004, inside Reliant Stadium in Houston.


    TEAM NOTES
    ** With 45 points, the Cougars scored in their 108th consecutive game... The Cougars have not been shut out since a 48-0 loss at Texas on Sept. 23, 2000.

    ** The Cougars improved to 81-90-4 (.474) all-time when playing in the month of September.

    ** The Cougars have recorded at least 400 yards of total offense in 15 consecutive games... UH last failed to reach that milestone with 367 yards against TCU during the Texas Bowl on Dec. 28, 2007.

    ** Since 2008, the Cougars have recorded 15 games with at least 400 yards of total offense and 10 games with at least 500 yards of total offense.

    ** The Cougars improved to 30-90-5 (.260) all-time against nationally ranked opponents.

    ** The Cougars improved to 18-43-3 (.305) in their all-time road openers.

    ** Houston has not been ranked since standing at No. 21 in the Sept. 17, 1991, poll.

    ** The Cougars improved to 3-3 (.500) all-time when playing on Sept. 12.... The Cougars had not won on Sept. 12 since a 17-13 win against No. 11 UCLA in 1977, a streak of three games.

    ** The Cougars improved to 61-75-8 (.451) all-time against current members of the Big 12.

    ** The Cougars improved to 10-9-1 (.525) all-time against Oklahoma State... The Cougars improved to 5-5 (.500) all-time against Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla.... Saturday's win was the Cougars' first win in Stillwater, Okla., since a 28-12 decision on Sept. 20, 1986.

    ** With 45 points, the Cougars scored their most points in the all-time series against Oklahoma State... It topped the previous high of 37 points in a 56-37 loss in Stillwater, Okla., on Sept. 6, 2008.

    ** Head coach Kevin Sumlin improved to 10-5 (.667) during his Houston career.

    ** Head coach Kevin Sumlin improved to 1-1 (.500) against Oklahoma State.

    ** Head coach Kevin Sumlin is 2-0 against nationally ranked teams... He also improved to 2-0 against ranked teams on the road.


    INDIVIDUAL NOTES
    ** With Saturday's win, junior quarterback Case Keenum recorded his 14th win as the starting QB for the Cougars and improved to 14-8 (.636)... He moved into a tie with Delrick Brown (14-6, 1977, 79) and Andre Ware (14-6, 1987-89) for sixth place in UH history... Up next in the UH records book is Jason McKinley, who won 16 games from 1997-00.

    ** With 366 passing yards, junior quarterback Case Keenum has thrown for at least 300 yards in 15 games during his career... It also was his second straight game this season with at least 300 yards.

    ** With three touchdown passes, junior quarterback Case Keenum has thrown for at least one touchdown in his last 18 games and 26 of 28 games during his career... Keenum's last game without a touchdown pass came against Tulsa on Nov. 10, 2007.

    ** With three touchdowns passes, junior quarterback Case Keenum recorded the 17th multi-touchdown game of his career... It also was the 13th in his last 14 game with at least two touchdown passes.

    ** With three touchdown passes, junior quarterback Case Keenum threw for at least three touchdowns in a game for the 11th time during his career.

    ** With four touchdowns responsible for (3 pass, 1 rush), junior quarterback Case Keenum moved past Andre Ware (81, 1987-89) into third place in UH career history... Up next in the UH records book is David Klingler, who accounted for 93 touchdowns from 1988 to 1991.

    ** With 366 passing yards, junior quarterback Case Keenum moved past 8,000 yards during his career and now stands with 8,004 career passing yards... He became only the fifth player in school history to reach that milestone and joined Kevin Kolb (12,964, 2003-06; David Klinger, 9,430, 1988-91; Jason McKinley, 8,694, 1997-00; and Andre Ware, 8, 202; 1987-89) in that group.

    ** With four touchdowns responsible for (3 pass, 1 rush), junior quarterback Case Keenum moved into a tie with Gino Giduglli (Cincinnati, 2001-04) and Dave Ragone (Louisville, 1999-02) for seventh place in Conference USA career history... Up next in the UH records book is Shaun King (84, Tulane, 1996-98).

    ** Junior quarterback Case Keenum recorded the first punt of his career around the 5:30 mark of the third quarter.

    ** With 111 receiving yards, sophomore wide receiver Tyron Carrier recorded the sixth 100-yard receiving game of his career... The Cougars improved to 4-2 (.667) during games in which Carrier reaches triple digits.

    ** Freshman running back Charles Sims made his first career start.

    ** Junior cornerback Jamal Robinson recorded the first interception and interception return for touchdown in his career around the 3:14 mark of the fourth quarter.

    ** Sophomore defensive tackle David Hunter made the first fumble recovery of his career at the 12:11 mark of the first quarter... He later added his second recovery of the game and his career around the 5:05 mark of the fourth quarter.

    ** Senior defensive end Tyrell Graham made the first start of his collegiate career.
