2007 Houston Cougars Football Postgame Notes

** The Cougars' win over Colorado State was UH's 16th come-from-behind win under head coach Art Briles since 2003... It also marked the Cougars' 13th come-from-behind win since 2005 and the team's ninth come-from-behind victory since 2006.
** During their win over Colorado State, the Cougars rallied from a 14-point deficit (trailing 17-3 at the 11:01 mark of the third quarter)... It was the biggest rally by the Cougars at John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium since UH overcame a 17-3 margin at the 0:02 mark of the second quarter to enjoy a 31-30 win against Army on Sept. 16, 2000.
** The three points scored by the Cougars in the first half was the fewest points scored by UH at John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium in the opening half since being shut out against Conference USA rival Memphis on Oct. 18, 2003.
** The Cougars improved to 3-0 all-time against Colorado State... Saturday's game was the first time since 1973 that the Cougars faced CSU on the gridiron... It also was the first time since 1972 that the Rams visited Houston.
** The Cougars improved to 78-86-4 (.476) all-time during the month of September.
** The Cougars improved to 32-12 (.727) all-time against current teams from the Mountain West Conference.
** The Cougars improved to 34-28 (.548) all-time during their home openers...With Saturday's win, the Cougars have won four of their last five home openers with only a 38-24 loss against Oregon at Reliant Stadium on Sept. 1, 2005 preventing a longer streak.
** The Cougars improved to 5-0 all-time when playing on Sept. 22.
** With 403 yards of total offense (247 pass, 156 rush), the Cougars recorded at least 400 yards of total offense for the 37th time during head coach Art Briles' tenure... It also marked the fourth straight game dating back to the 2006 AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
** Redshirt freshman quarterback Case Keenum's rushing touchdown at the 6:18 mark of the fourth quarter was the first rushing touchdown of his collegiate career... After adding a 1-yard touchdown run at the 1:54 mark of the fourth quarter, Keenum recorded the first multi-rushing touchdown game of his career.
** With two touchdown passes, redshirt freshman quarterback Case Keenum recorded the first multi-passing touchdown game of his career... His total topped his previous high of one, set at Oregon on Sept. 1.
** Redshirt freshman wide receiver L.J. Castile recorded the first touchdown reception of his collegiate career at the 11:00 mark of the third quarter.
** Junior strong safety Kenneth Fontenette's 37-yard fumble return for a touchdown at the 2:18 mark of the third quarter was the first touchdown of his collegiate career.
** First Starts: Sophomore wide receiver Chris Gilbert made his first career start as a Cougar.
** First Games: Redshirt freshman wide receiver Chaz Rodriguez competed in the first game of his collegiate career.
