2007 Houston Cougars Football Postgame Notes

** The Cougars fell to 0-10 all-time against Alabama.
** The Cougars fell to 27-57-1 (.324) against current teams in the SEC.
** The Cougars fell to 5-4 (.556) all-time when playing on Oct. 6.
** The Cougars fell to 0-12 when playing in the state of Alabama... The Cougars are 0-6 against Alabama, 0-3 against UAB and 0-3 against Auburn.
** The Cougars scored in its 85th consecutive game... The Cougars have not been shut out since a 48-0 loss at Texas on Sept. 23, 2000.
** With 404 yards of total offense (261 pass, 143 rush), the Cougars recorded at least 400 yards of total offense for the 39th time during head coach Art Briles' tenure... It also marked the sixth straight game that the Cougars reached that total dating back to the 2006 AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
** With Saturday's attendance of 92,138, the Cougars played in front of their fifth-largest crowd in school history... That total ranks only behind the crowds of: 109,580 (at Michigan, Sept. 6, 2003); 106,417 (at Tennessee, Sept. 26, 1998); 3. 104,968 (at Michigan (Sept. 26, 1992) and 104,196 (at Michigan, Sept. 25, 1993)
** With 100 rushing yards, senior running back Anthony Alridge recorded his second 100-yard rushing game of the 2007 season and the sixth of his career... The Cougars fell to 4-2 (.667) all-time during games in which Alridge rushes for at least 100 yards.
** With his 68-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter, senior wide receiver Donnie Avery recorded the 15th receiving touchdown of his career and moved into a tie for ninth place in UH history with Ron Peters, who caught 15 touchdown passes from 1991 to 1994... Up next in the UH records book is Marcus Grant, who caught 16 touchdown passes from 1989 to 1991.
** With 104 receiving yards, senior wide receiver Donnie Avery recorded his third 100-yard receiving game of the 2007 season and the seventh 100-yard game of his career... The Cougars fell to 1-6 (.143) all-time during games in which Avery reaches triple digits.
** With 104 receiving yards, senior wide receiver Donnie Avery now has recorded 2,371 receiving yards during his career to move past Jason Phillips (2,319 yards, 1987-88) into sixth place in UH career history... Up next in the UH records book is Manny Hazard, who recorded 2,635 yards from 1989 to 1990.
** With 104 receiving yards, senior wide receiver Donnie Avery recorded at least 100 yards for the second straight game... He became the first player since Vincent Marshall (vs. South Carolina, 9 rec., 201 yards, Dec. 29, 2006; vs. USM (8 rec., 100 yards, Dec. 1, 2006) to reach triple digits in consecutive games.
** Sophomore cornerback Brandon Brinkley's interception at the 2:56 mark of the fourth quarter was his first pickoff of the 2007 season.
