    TEAM NOTES
    ** With a 6-1 record through their first seven games, the Cougars marked the program's best start since the 1990 team started 8-0.

    ** Houston has won its last 12 home games at Robertson Stadium... The Cougars have not lost at home since a 37-35 loss to Conference USA-rival East Carolina on Sept. 29, 2007... That ECU loss is the Cougars' only home loss in their last 16 home games.

    ** With 38 points, the Cougars scored in their 112th consecutive game... The Cougars have not been shut out since a 48-0 loss at Texas on Sept. 23, 2000.

    ** The Cougars are 123-123-6 (.500) all-time when playing in the month of October.

    ** The Cougars are 30-16-1 (.648) all-time during their conference home openers... That includes a 9-5 (.642) record in Conference USA home openers.

    ** With Saturday's win, the Cougars won their second straight C-USA home opener... It marked the first time that Houston accomplished that feat since 1999 (vs. Cincinnati) and 2000 (vs. Army).

    ** The Cougars are 4-5 (.444) all-time when playing on Oct. 24... Saturday's game was the first time that Houston has played on Oct. 24 since the 1998 season.

    ** By not recording a turnover, the Cougars marked the first back-to-back games without a giveaway since the 2002 season finale and the 2003 season opener... it also marks the first time that Houston has played consecutive games without a turnover in the same season since Oct. 28-Nov. 4, 2000.

    SMU SERIES NOTES
    ** The Cougars are 15-9-1 (.620) in the all-time series against SMU.

    ** The Cougars have won their last four games against SMU.. Houston has not lost to SMU since a 29-24 decision on Nov. 19, 2005, at Robertson Stadium in Houston.

    ** Head coach Kevin Sumlin is 2-0 against SMU during his career.

    HOMECOMING NOTES
    ** Saturday's game marked the Cougars' 63rd annual Homecoming game... The Cougars are 34-27-3 (.554) during Homecoming games. ** The Cougars have won their last six Homecoming games... Houston has not lost a Homecoming game since a 31-10 loss to Conference USA-rival Southern Miss on Nov. 8, 2003.

    ** The Cougars are 4-4-1 (.500) all-time against SMU in their Homecoming games... The Cougars have won their last four Homecoming games against SMU.

    ** Saturday's game was the first time that the Cougars faced SMU in a Homecoming game since a 28-28 tie on Oct. 16, 1993, inside the Houston Astrodome.

    INDIVIDUAL NOTES
    ** Junior quarterback Case Keenum has thrown a touchdown pass in his last 23 consecutive games, extending his school record... The previous record was 18 consecutive games by Andre Ware from 1988 to 1991.

    ** With one touchdown pass, junior quarterback Case Keenum has thrown for at least one touchdown in 23 consecutive games and 32 of 34 games during his career... Keenum's last game without a touchdown pass came against Tulsa on Nov. 10, 2007.

    ** With his 92-yard kickoff return to start the third quarter, sophomore wide receiver Tyron Carrier Tyron Carrier recorded the second kickoff return for a touchdown of his career... his previous kickoff return was a 93-yard run on Nov. 15, 2008 against Tulsa.

    ** Sophomore wide receiver Tyron Carrier's 93-yard kickoff return in the third quarter was the eighth longest in school history and the longest since his 92-yard return on Nov. 15, 2008 against Tulsa.

    ** Senior tight end Fendi Onobun recorded his first career catch, a 15-yard reception, in the third quarter.

    ** With his 122 receiving yards, sophomore wide receiver Patrick Edwards recorded the fourth 100-yard receiving game of his career... the Cougars are 3-1 when he reaches triple-digit receiving yards.

    ** With his 105 rushing yards, freshman running back Charles Sims recorded a career-high in rushing yards... his previous career best was 54-yards at UTEP on Oct. 3, 2009.

    ** With his blocked extra point in the fourth quarter, junior wide receiver L.J. Castille recorded the second blocked extra point of his career.

    ** With his two fumble recoveries, senior linebacker C.J. Cavness recorded a career-high.

    ** Senior linebacker C.J. Cavness recorded the second forced fumble of his career, while recording a career-high 18 tackles.

    ** With his two rushing touchdowns, freshman running back Charles Sims recorded the first multi-rushing touchdown game of his career and the second multi-touchdown game of his career.

    KEENUM IN THE C-USA RECORDS BOOK
    ** With 10,113 passing yards, junior quarterback Case Keenum became only the sixth player in Conference USA history to throw for at least 10,000 yards during his career... Keenum joined Houston's Kevin Kolb (12,964 yards, 2003-06), Louisville's Chris Redman (12,541, 1996-99), Cincinnati's Gino Guidugli (11, 453, 2001-04), Tulsa's Paul Smith (10,639, 10,639) and Memphis' Danny Wimprine (10,215, 2001-04).

    ** With 233 passing yards, junior quarterback Case Keenum moved into sixth place in Conference USA career history... Keenum now has 10,013 career passing yards... Up next in the UH records book is Memphis' Danny Wimprine, who threw for 10,215 yards from 2001 to 2004.

    ** With one touchdown pass, junior quarterback Case Keenum moved into sixth place in Conference USA career history.. Keenum now has 78 touchdown passes during his career... Up next in the C-USA records book is Memphis' Danny Wimprine, who threw for 81 touchdown passes from 2001-04.

    ** With 10,710 yards of total offense (10,013 pass, 697 rush), junior quarterback Case Keenum moved past Memphis' Danny Wimprine (10,634 yards, 2001-04) into sixth place in Conference USA career history... Keenum now has 10,489 yards of total offense... Up next in the C-USA records book is Tulsa's Paul Smith, who accounted for 11,304 yards from 2005 to 2007.

    ** With 25 completions, junior quarterback Case Keenum moved into fourth place in Conference USA career history... Keenum now has 825 completions during his career... Up next in the C-USA records book is Cincinnati's Gino Guidugli, who completed 880 passes from 2001 to 2004.

    ** With 36 passing attempts, junior quarterback Case Keenum moved into 10th place in Conference USA career history... Keenum now has 1,206 passing attempts during his career... Up next in the C-USA records book is UAB's Darrell Hackney, who threw 1,246 passes from 2002 to 2005.

    KEENUM IN THE HOUSTON RECORDS BOOK
