    POST-GAME QUOTES
    Houston vs Tulane
John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium * October 30, 2004

    Houston Head Coach Art Briles
"Prior to coming up here I said I was just going to make one statement. And I am just going to make one quick statement. All of the credit goes to our assistant coaches for the way that they have held us together. We've held the team together, kept our hope, kept our faith. And to our players, who have not lost faith and have not lost hope, and they've continued to work hard. And that's the reason we won here tonight. Last week was actually the best week of practice we've had since we've been here. To me, that's pretty amazing, and I'm very proud of our players."

"We had a great plan (defensive) coming in, and coach (Ron) Harris had a really good plan and we felt comfortable with it."

"I don't care if we win 24-3 or 63-62, all I want to do is win, because that's all that matters and that's why we play the game. We did a great job tonight, and did what we had to to win."

"We came out hot and came out explosive. We made some good plays early and we had the confidence and they lost it. We had the momentum and they didn't have it (momentum). We've been on the other side of the coin. Like we talked about at half-time, we're going to play with heart and keep ours, because we've had it taken away from us some this year. So when we have the chance to keep it, we're going to keep it."

"It was a whole team effort (on the offense clicking). I thought we did a few things well, but then just kind of piddled around. We were always looking up to see how the clock was moving, as that was our main objective - keep the clock moving and go home. That's all we care about - winning the game."

    QB Kevin Kolb
"We were talking all week how we wanted to come out and light it up. We came out early and had some big plays. We felt like tonight was going to be a big-play night, and it was. It is good to get that feeling of being on top again. We had that last year a few times, and let's hope we keep it going."

"We don't really have a go-to guy, it's all of us together. And that's the way we've got to play from now on, and we realize that. We're going to use everybody if we have to. Everybody has a special talent, and so we're going to use that throughout the year."

    Defensive End Travis Griffith
"They (Tulane) weren't cutting defensive linemen that much. They blocked down rather than blocked out, I came through; we put pressure on the quarterback, and Wade (Koehl) was able to make a good play and hustle the ball, get around one of their offensive lineman and score."
