The 2011 Cougars became the seventh team in school history to win at 10 games in a season... They join the 2009 (10-4), 2006 (10-4), 1990 (10-1), 1979 (11-1), 1976 (10-2) and 1973 (11-1) squads as the only teams to reach this milestone.

The Cougars became the first team in school history to start the season 10-0 and leads the nation with its victory total... Only two teams (1990, 1979) won their first eight games to open a season before suffering a loss in the ninth contest.

Houston's 10-game winning streak is the second-longest streak in school history... It trails only the 12 consecutive wins from 1989-90... However, the current streak is the longest in-season streak in school history.

Head coach Kevin Sumlin is the winningest head coach over his first three+ seasons at Houston. He is now 32-16 all-time.

Sumlin joined Bill Yeoman as the only head coaches in school history to lead the Cougars to multiple 10-win seasons during their careers... This is the second time in four seasons (2009) that Sumlin has led the Cougars to 10 wins... Yeoman led the Cougars to four 10-win seasons from 1962-86.

The Cougars improved to 6-0 in Conference USA play for the first time in school history... It also marked the program's third 5-0 start in conference play... Those teams included 1990, and 1978 in Southwest Conference.

This was Houston's third non-Saturday game of the season... Houston improved to 40-29-1 all-time when playing in non-Saturday games... The Cougars improved to 9-12 when playing on Thursdays.

Senior quarterback Case Keenum enjoyed another accurate start, opening 7-of-7 in the first half after starting 11-of-11 last week at UAB. Keenum finished the game 22-of-29 For 325 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Keenum has topped 300 yards in 10 consecutive games this season (each game so far). Keenum also recorded his 35th career 300-yard game, No. 2 all-time in NCAA history. Former Hawaii Standout Timmy Chang has 36 career 300-yard efforts, which is the NCAA record.

Keenum is just 49 yards shy of his third career 4,000-yard season. He would become just the second player in NCAA history to top 4,000 yards in three separate seasons over a career. Keenum could join Chang as the only other player to accomplish that feat. No player has topped 5,000 yards passing three times in a career, but Keenum is just 1,049 yards shy of becoming the first.

Keenum's 22 completions moved him closer to yet another NCAA record. He is just seven completions shy of passing former Texas Tech standout Graham Harrell with 1,403 completions over his career. Keenum has 1,397 career completions.

Keenum now has 37 TD passes this season. His TD-to-INT ratio is an incredible 37-to-3 this season. Keenum leads the country in throwing scores and is already fifth in single-season history at UH.
