HOUSTON - Houston will travel to Provo, Utah, on Thursday, Sept. 11, to face BYU in a nationally-televised game on ESPN, it was announced Monday evening.
BYU’s home opener for the 2014 season will be just the second meeting between the two schools after BYU handed Houston a nail-biting 47-46 loss in last season’s showdown at Reliant Stadium in Houston.
Kickoff for the game will be announced at later date.
Earlier this month, The American Athletic Conference announced conference opponents and site designations for the 2014 season. Houston will host the 2014 Fiesta Bowl champion in UCF along with Tulsa, Temple and Tulane in conference action in the Houston Football Stadium’s inaugural season.
Houston will travel to Cincinnati, Memphis, SMU and USF for its American games this fall. Dates and kickoff times for The American games will be announced at a later date.
Houston will also host UTSA and Grambling in 2014 and is in the final stages of negotiations for its fourth and final non-conference opponent.
