Cougar Football Team Returns To Robertson Stadium For A Scrimmage

March 28, 2003

Houston, Texas-- - The University of Houston football team will return to Robertson Stadium for the first time since the 2002 season ended when the Cougars have a scrimmage at 10:00 a.m. Saturday.

Houston will have concluded its third week of spring practice under first-year head coach Art Briles, who likes what he has seen thus far.

"I have seen some great effort and enthusiasm from the players so far," Briles said. "We have spent this week trying to fine tune our new offense and defense. The players are retaining most of what we have been teaching them and we have been able to put in about 60-70 percent of our offense."

After Saturday's scrimmage, the Cougars begin their final week of spring drills on Tuesday. UH is slated to hold its annual Red-White Game on Saturday, April 5, at 10 am at Robertson Stadium.
