Football Spring Practice Report

March 29, 2007

HOUSTON - The University of Houston football team continued spring practice Thursday in full pads under sunny skies at the UH practice fields after taking Wednesday off.

"It was a good practice. The weather cooperated and for being three weeks into it the guys still have a lot of spunk. The attitude is good, the senior leadership is good and we have a lot of emotion. I may not be speaking for everyone but it's not really a grind. It's more of an opportunity to get better and see where we stand as a team," head coach Art Briles said.

The Cougars will practice again Friday afternoon in shorts and shoulder pads before scrimmaging on Saturday. The scrimmage will be held at 10 a.m. on John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium.

"We will just have a little short workout tomorrow to keep them fresh for the scrimmage on Saturday. Tomorrow we will just fine tune things and keep our minds fresh and let our bodies heal up a little bit and then we will jerk it around pretty good on Saturday," Briles said.

Spring practice concludes on April 7 with the annual Red-White Game at 10 a.m. at the Carl Lewis International Track and Field Complex on the UH campus. A complete list of Spring Football Dates can be found at www.uhcougars.com.
