Named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team... led all freshman (true or redshirt) defenders with 61 total tackles, including 37 unassisted and four for losses... appeared in 11 games with five consecutive starts against East Carolina, Tulane, Memphis, TCU and Southern Miss... made his first career start at East Carolina in front of a nationally-televised audience on ESPN2... led the Cougar defense with 12 tackles, including eight for solo stops... also added two tackles for losses totaling four yards and broke up two passes... changed his jersey number to No. 1 before the TCU game... recorded nine tackles with six solo efforts against the Horned Frogs... made five tackles, with two solo stops and added one tackle for a one-yard loss and broke up a pass at Army... recorded his first career interception against UAB during the Cougars' bowl-clinching win... recorded seven tackles with a team-best-tying six solo stops against Hawai'i in the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl...
