HOUSTON -- Houston linebacker Tyus Bowser was drafted 47th overall Friday night by the Baltimore Ravens in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Bowser is the #HTownTakeover's 174th all-time NFL Draft selection and is the first player in Houston history drafted by the Ravens.

Bowser closed out his career ranked seventh on the Houston career sacks lists with 21.5, part of his 27.5 career tackles for loss and 136 tackles. He started 23 games in his career with action in 48 games total. He also had eight pass breakups, two interceptions, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in his four-year career at UH.
Despite missing five games his senior year with an injury, the Tyler, Texas native was third in The American Athletic Conference and tied for the team lead with 8.5 sacks. He also tied for second on the team with 12 tackles for loss, a number that ranked ninth in The American.
The 2017 NFL Draft resumes Friday at 6 p.m. CT with the second and third round with the final four rounds kicking off Saturday at 11 a.m. CT.
