HOUSTON – Kickoff time for Houston’s season opener on Sept. 2 at UTSA was announced Wednesday by Conference USA and its network TV partners.
The Cougars and the Roadrunners will kick off at 6 p.m. CT with the game airing on the American Sports Network/STADIUM.

The season opener joins three kickoff times announced a week ago by The American Athletic Conference and its network TV partners. The three include Houston’s home opener vs. Rice on Saturday, Sept. 16, that will kick off at 7 p.m. CT and air on ESPN3.
Houston’s lone Thursday night game of the year, a home showdown with Memphis on Oct. 19, will kick off at 7 p.m. and air on ESPN.
The Cougars will hit the road in week two of the season when they face Arizona in Tucson, Ariz., on Saturday, Sept. 9, in a game that will kick off at 9:30 p.m. CT on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU. Network designation will be announced following the first week of college football action.
For weekend games past the first three weeks of the season, kickoff times will be set by conference TV partners within 12 days prior to the contest, or in limited instances, six days out.
Stadium is a new, fully programmed, 24/7 multi-platform sports network that brings together exclusive live game and event coverage, extensive highlights, classic games, original programming, and daily live studio programming. Stadium includes a 24/7 linear feed distributed across both digital and broadcast platforms, as well as a comprehensive array of on demand content including additional live events and VOD highlights accessible via owned and operated STADIUM platforms and select distribution partners.
Stadium was formed when Campus Insiders, 120 Sports and The American Sports Network combined forces to take advantage of a combined collection of professional and collegiate rights and unique access to both digital and television distribution opportunities. STADIUM is owned by a collection of industry leaders including Silver Chalice, Sinclair, MLBAM, the NHL, the PGA TOUR, and Time, Inc. and will launch later this Summer 2017.
