HOUSTON – The University of Houston Football program announced Friday its Oct. 12 game vs. Memphis will be held at BBVA Compass Stadium with kickoff at 11 a.m. Television carrier information for the game will be announced at a later date by The American Athletic Conference.
UH also announced final details for the Nov. 23 game against Cincinnati are currently being negotiated with Athletic Department officials from Rice University. The game’s location will be officially announced when the stadium contract is signed.
“We are appreciative of BBVA Compass Stadium and the Houston Dynamo for letting us call their state-of-the-art facility our home for one Saturday this fall,” said Houston’s Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Mack Rhoades. “The facility provides an intimate location for our fan base without a bad seat in the house, giving our fans the opportunity to provide a raucous home field advantage. The game day experience will be truly exciting as the stadium’s location and 11 a.m. kickoff gives us the opportunity to hold a block party and fan fest throughout the day.
“We also would like to thank the Rice Athletics Department for its cooperation as we complete the process to hold our Nov. 23 game against Cincinnati at Rice Stadium.”
The program had previously announced that five games – Southern (Aug. 30), Rice (Sept. 21), BYU (Oct. 19), USF (Oct. 31) and SMU (Nov. 29) – will be played at Reliant Stadium.
