    2006 Season
    Conference USA Champions 10-4 (7-1)

    After dropping three straight games in the midpoint of the season, the 2006 Houston team reeled off six consecutive victories capped by a 34-20 win over Southern Miss in the Conference USA Championship to claim its 10th conference crown.>Kevin Kolb threw for two touchdown passes to Biren Ealy and ran for a 46-yard touchdown in front of 31,818 at Robertson Stadium. Vincent Marshall and Jackie Battle also added touchdown runs as Houston used a 14-point third quarter to capture the lead and never look back.

    1996 Season
    Conference USA Champions 7-5 (4-1)

    In its first season in Conference USA, Houston used a 4-1 conference record to capture its ninth conference title in program history. With no conference title game, Houston entered the season looking at five conference matchups on its schedule. After splitting its first two games, defeating Memphis (37-20) and falling to Cincinnati (31-20), the Cougars reeled off three straight conference wins over Tulane (20-17), Southern Miss (56-49 [OT]) and Louisville (38-7) to claim the first-ever Conference USA championship.
