HOUSTON - The University of Houston football team will play before a national television audience when it meets Michigan early during the 2003 season.

The game, scheduled on Saturday, Sept. 6, will air at 11 a.m. (CDT) on ESPN live from Ann Arbor, Mich. It was a recent addition to the Conference USA television schedule and is the first of two TV games for the Cougars during the upcoming season.

UH hits the road to open Conference USA play at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 30, against East Carolina in Greenville, N.C.

The Michigan game will be the first road contest of the 2003 campaign for the Cougars, who open the season with a showdown against crosstown rival Rice at 7 p.m., Aug. 30, at John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium.

Under the new leadership of head coach Art Briles, the Cougar football team reports to training camp on Aug. 5 and hits the practice field one day later.
