HOUSTON - Houston head football coach Tony Levine announced Wednesday the signing of cornerback William Jackson to Houston's 2013 signing class. A product of Wheatley High School in Houston, Jackson spent the 2012 season at Trinity Valley Community College and will have three years of eligibility remaining for the Cougars beginning this fall.

A combination of great size and athleticism at 6-1 and 175 lbs. with a 4.4 40-yard dash, Jackson was a two-time All-District 22-4A selection on both sides of the football at Wheatley, including twice being named a First Team selection at defensive back.

Jackson recorded 20 receptions for 357 yards and four touchdowns as a senior while averaging nearly 18 yards per catch for Head Coach Cornelius McFarland and the Wildcats. On the defensive side of the ball, Jackson had two interceptions despite opponents routinely throwing away from his side of the field his senior campaign.

Jackson collected 15 receptions for 269 yards and six TDs as a junior as he hauled in four interceptions to help lead Wheatley to the District 22-4A title in 2010.
