Houston, Texas - The University of Houston today announced that its Oct. 31 football game with Southern Miss at Robertson Stadium has been picked up by CSS (Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast) for a television broadcast.

The game is a part of CBS College Sports regional television obligation to Conference USA and this league clash marks the first time the Cougars have played on CSS.

Kickoff is slated for noon.

"I think this is a great opportunity for this football program," UH head coach Kevin Sumlin said. "This is just another chance for our team to get exposure on a different channel in a different part of the country."

With the USM game's television designation, the Cougars now have six nationally-televised games in 2009, including three games on CBS C beginning with Tulane on Oct. 17, SMU on Oct. 24 and the Nov. 7 game at Tulsa, as well as an ESPN affair with Texas Tech on Sept. 26 and a Fox Sports Net clash with Oklahoma State on Sept. 12.

CSS is a 24-hour sports channel serving approximately 5.9 million cable subscribers across twelve southeastern states. Launched in 1999, the channel is a partnership between Comcast Corporation and Charter Communications. CSS carries a full slate of college sports programming. With over 40 live football games including the SEC, Sun Belt, Conference USA, and Gulf South conferences, the channel offers a comprehensive sports lineup throughout the year. The channel also offers more than 200 men's and women's live college basketball games and over 50 live baseball games, as well as a comprehensive mix of sports news and in-depth sports analysis geared toward fans in the Southeast.
