HOUSTON - University of Houston fans braved the wet weather to catch their first glimpses of the Cougars' Football, Soccer and Volleyball programs during Fan Appreciation Day activities inside the Yeoman Fieldhouse in the Athletics/Alumni Center on Sunday.

Young fans were invited early in the day to take part in interactive drills with student-athletes from each team at various stationsthroughout the Fieldhouse.

While the drills were going on, SportsTalk 790 AM morning host Matt Jackson spoke with Volleyball Head Coach Kaddie Platt, Soccer Head Coach Chris Pfau and Football Head Coach Tony Levine. Each coach provided an insightful look at their respective teams as fall practices start.

Following the drills and interviews, student-athletes and coaches lined up, signed autographs and took photos with fans young and old for nearly an hour.

"Fan Appreciation Day is a great way to start the season. There is so much excitement surrounding our fall programs, especially with three new head coaches leading our teams," Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Promotions Rob Stewart said. "All our fans had a lot of fun, and you can see the excitement spreading among everyone as the start of the season for Houston Athletics draws closer."
