    University of Houston football fans will have three opportunities in the preseason to check out the 2010 edition of the Cougars with open practices on Saturdays, Aug. 7, Aug. 14 and Aug. 21. In the final two sessions, UH will be holding scrimmages at Robertson Stadium, while the first will be held on the practice fields adjacent to Tellez Track.

    On Sat., Aug. 7, the Cougars will work out in helmets and shorts in just their second practice of the fall training camp at 5:30 pm. The scrimmage on Aug. 14 will begin at 11:15 am in Robertson Stadium, followed the the annual Fan Appreciation Day scheduled for 1 pm. The final Saturday of the preseason, Aug. 21, will feature a scrimmage beginning at 11:30 am.

    FAN APPRECIATION DAY: University of Houston football fans should mark Saturday, Aug. 14 on their calendars for Fan Appreciation Day on John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium.

    The event is free and open to the public, and head coach Kevin Sumlin invites all fans to come out and catch an early glimpse of the Cougars.

    The 2010 Cougars football team will compete in a scrimmage, beginning at 11 a.m., Aug. 14, at Robertson Stadium. Following the action on the field, fans can meet coaches and student-athletes during autograph sessions in the pavilions on the west side (Scott Street side) of Robertson Stadium around 1 p.m.

    Season tickets are on sale now, and fans are encouraged to purchase soon due to record sales. General admission season tickets in the South End Zone are only $120, while reserved season tickets begin at only $185.

    Fans also can choose from a variety of packages, including the Family Plan, which includes two adult and two youth South End Zone General Admission season tickets for only $249. For families with more than four members, additional youth tickets can be purchased for $75 each.



    Robertson Stadium has become one of the nation's toughest venues. The Cougars bring a 15-game home winning streak into the 2010 season opener, tying for the country's fourth-longest active streak.
