Isaiah Chambers Joins Houston Program

HOUSTON -- The Houston Football program has welcomed Houston native Isaiah Chambers, a transfer from TCU. The defensive end spent one season at TCU, where he redshirted in 2016, and will sit out the 2017 season under NCAA transfer procedures.

The 6-4, 261-pound, defensive end ranked as a four-star recruit by 247Sports coming out of Aldine MacArthur High School in Houston. He was rated the No. 2 defensive end in the state of Texas and No. 7 defensive end nationally by 247Sports.

Ranked the No. 22 overall recruit in Texas in 2016 and the No. 129 overall recruit nationally by 247Sports, Chambers was an Associated Press and Texas Sports Writers Association Class 6A Second-Team All-State selection and 18-6A MVP as a junior when he recorded 68 tackles, including 36 for loss, with 21 sacks. He also earned 18-5A First-Team All-District honors as a sophomore.
