Houston, Texas - As the nation's top returning statistical receiver, it was just a matter of time before University of Houston senior wide receiver Vincent Marshall joined several of his teammates on one of the preseason watch lists, and today he joins the list. Marshall was named to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc., a list that honors the nation's top receivers.
Marshall becomes the fifth UH Cougars to be named to a prestigious watch list, adding his name to the honor roll that includes quarterback Kevin Kolb (Maxwell Award, Davey O'Brien Quarterback Award & Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award), offensive lineman SirVincent Rogers (Outland Trophy & Lombardi Award), center Sterling Doty (Rimington Award) and outside linebacker Wade Koehl (Butkus Award).
After the season-opening win over Rice, Marshall now leads all Division I-A receivers with 198 receptions for 2,835 yards. His 19 receiving touchdowns ranks sixth behind the 29 posted by USC's Dwayne Jarrett, also a member of the watch list.
Marshall has been the Cougars' leading receiver the past two seasons and was a First-Team, All-Conference USA member last season, as well as grabbing Third-Team honors as a punt returner.
