The Cougars come into the game on the heels of a disappointing 31-28 loss to Air Force at Gerald J. Ford Stadium on the SMU campus last weekend. That game was scheduled to be played on UH's John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium but was moved north due to Hurricane Ike. Head coach Kevin Sumlin, his staff and players were forced to stay in Dallas until Thursday morning as recovery crews worked to return the UH campus to normalcy after the hurricane. Fans can hear the game live on 950 AM KPRC with Tom Franklin calling the play-by-play action, Ted Pardee providing color analysis and Chuck Brown reporting from the sideline. The pregame show is slated to begin one hour before kickoff. Fans also can follow live stats over the Internet by clicking the Gametracker link at UHCougars.com. Offensively, sophomore quarterback Case Keenum continues to lead the team, averaging more than 380 yards per game with 13 touchdowns and only one interception through the first three games. The Abilene, Texas, native became the first UH signal caller to throw for at least 300 yards in four straight games since Jason McKinley in 2000. Keenum also can be dangerous to opponents on the ground, leading the UH rushing offense with nearly 50 yards per game and an average of 6.7 yards per carry. When the Cougars attack through the air, senior tight end Mark Hafner is the team's leading target. This season, the Waller, Texas, native has compiled 22 catches for 246 yards and six touchdowns to lead the Cougars in all three categories. He hauled in three touchdowns against Air Force last weekend, becoming the first player since 1992 to accomplish that feat and has caught at least one touchdown in each of the first three games. This marks the second straight season that the Cougars will face Colorado State on the gridiron. The Cougars own a 3-0 lead in the all-time series, which began in 1972. UH also can boast of the most recent success after taking a 38-27 win over the Rams on Sept. 22, 2007, at Robertson Stadium. Colorado State enters this weekend's game after enjoying a bye weekend. In their last game, the Rams kicked two field goals in the final 89 seconds to take a 23-20 win over Sacramento State. In that game, quarterback Billy Farris threw for 321 yards and a touchdown on 23-of-33 passing, while receiver Rashaun Greer led all players with nine catches for 152 yards. This season, Farris has racked up 508 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 48-of-70 passing while Greer is tops with 17 catches for 222 yards, nearly doubling his closest competitor in both categories. Gartre Johnson paces the ground attack with 168 rushing yards and a touchdown on 32 carries. Defensively, Ricky Brewer leads the way with 22 tackles, including 16 solo stops. Tommie Hill is tops with a pair of sacks, while Klint Kubiak has recorded the Rams' lone interception.
