HOUSTON –The University of Houston Football Program announced Friday a two-year non-conference series with Louisville beginning in 2015. Houston will travel to Louisville on Sept. 12, 2015, while the Cardinals will repay the favor with a trip to Houston on Nov. 19, 2016.

The two teams have previously met 14 times, splitting the series, and will meet again on Nov. 16 when Houston travels to Louisville for an American Athletic Conference matchup. Louisville will join the Atlantic Coast Conference beginning with the 2014 season.

“We’ve been committed to scheduling quality opponents that reward our fans and provide great competition for our team. When you look at the success sustained by Louisville, we feel like we’ve covered those two factors,” said Houston Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Mack Rhoades. “We’ve had great competition with Louisville in the past as evident by the series record, and we look forward to keeping the spirited rivalry alive.”

Houston and Louisville are The American’s two remaining undefeated teams and sit atop the conference standings with 2-0 conference records. Houston hosts BYU at 2:30 p.m. Saturday inside Reliant Stadium in a game that will be aired on ESPNews, while Louisville hosts UCF at 7 p.m. Friday on ESPN.
