UH Celebrates Houston Independent School District Day
Oct. 19, 2004 HOUSTON, Texas - The University of Houston Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the 3rd annual HISD Day on Saturday, October 30 when the Houston Cougars play Tulane, 4pm at Robertson Stadium. Over 4,000 HISD students, family members and employees will be in attendance for the game. UH Athletics will recognize HISD Chief Academic Officer and UH Alumnus, Robert Stockwell as the honorary captain of the game prior to kick off. UH will feature various interactive games and contests for all kids at the game. In addition, 700 HISD kids will perform a cheerleading show at halftime of the game. "This is a great opportunity for our students to experience the collegiate atmosphere of Houston's University," said Jennifer Yould, HISD Representative. "We are excited to host the future students of UH to our campus. We look for this day to continue to grow each year," said Dave Maggard, UH Athletics Director. All HISD tickets are sold out for the game, though standard $20 single game tickets remain available for purchase by contacting the Houston Cougar Ticket Office at 713-GO-COOGS or UHcougars.com.
